I’ve been out walking
I don’t do too much talking
These days, these days
These days I seem to think a lot
About the things that I forgot to do
And all the times I had the chance to.

I’ve stopped my rambling
I don’t do too much gambling
These days, these days
These days I seem to think about
How all the changes came about my ways
And I wonder if I’d see another highway

I had a lover
I don’t think I’ll risk another
These days, these days
And if I seem to be afraid
To live the life that I have made in song
It’s just that I’ve been losing so long

I’ve stopped my dreaming
I won’t do too much scheming
These days, these days
These days I sit on corner stones
And count the time in quarter tones to ten
Please don’t confront me with my failures
I had not forgotten them

Cool. I didn’t know Nico recorded this song. I just learned that she was the first to do so, even though it was written by Jackson Browne. Nico sang it in 1967. Browne didn’t record it himself until 1973, which is the version I know of.

Apparently a lot of people have recorded this song. I just saw that Drake had a go at it in 2017.

I heard the phantom/ghost version first and I really like the way it sounds on a piano.

Here’s a remix of the phantom version

Don’t like Jazz because it’s a bit wanky as an old punker but…This is the great John Zorn. Had a friend turn my onto him. In some stuff he fuses like metal with jazz!

For the musicians among us.
