I think mine was Bon Jovi
Queen songs because they are played at hockey games.
Too many to list. But I suppose I can say my usual answer is Magazine.
Metallica. It was the first band I ever listened to. Still listen to them to this day.
I used to dance to Thunderstruck by AC/DC. I was a bada** dancer back in the day.
I lived in a farmhouse and the whole house would shake when I danced.
ABBA, had their posters plastered all over my bedroom wall and the bubble gum swap cards.
Guns N Roses…and back then I could care less how raunchy they were. They were babes. All my other friends were crushing on New Kids On The Block though. LOL
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
I bought Born to Run when it came out in August 1975.
The Cure!!!
Led Zeppelin and the Beatles.
I got into the Cult (rock band) in my 20s.
BLINK -182 for sure
Simple Minds
Waterfront!
It was Kiss all the way.
The Beatles. I think I liked them when I was 5 or 6 because both my sisters liked them. This was at the height of Beatlemania. When I got older I appreciated them on my own and they’re still my favorite group.
It was really sad though to learn these past ten years that John Lennon was not the image that he portrayed in the media in his time. He has plenty of good in him and made many people happy with his music and you can’t deny his musical genius but to learn that he abandoned his wife and son, and to learn that he had violence issues against women, and that for all his peace talk after the Beatles broke up, he really didn’t help anyone or stop war at all, and and when he became famously known as a househusband in the 1980’s and he gave up releasing music for 3 or 4 years to stay home and raise Sean, his child with Yoko One, it eventually came out that he spent those 4 years locked in his million dollar apartment in a drug-induced haze for most of that time and that generally he was not as nice a person that his image portrayed him as. Very disappointing. Now when I watch videos on YouTube of the Beatles I look at him in a totally different light.
You have good taste @kindness. My second favorite artist.
Linkin park was mine
Earliest favorite was Toby Keith lol. I grew up on country.
I really liked Paul Simon. My parents had Graceland on the record player all the time.
