What is the most common side effect of your medication?

Question.
Maybe this has been posted before but I’m fairly new and my partner was not really open to medication. What would be the most common side-effect of your medication?

I take Zyprexa. The two most common are drowsiness (I sleep for 10-14 hours and feel tired the rest of the time some days) and weight gain. I suffer from both of them. Also I have high blood pressure but that is probably a combination of the weight and the medications. I guess it is a little funny to say but despite being fat, sleeping all the time, and the high blood pressure I’m pretty happy with the medication.

what futomimi said, i also take zyprexa.
a bloathed face is also a side effect from zyprexa

and for prozac "“fluoxetine”, the side effect is a heavy depression.
which is weird because it supposed too be an anti depressant.

Yes, I googled the bloating… that seems to be a real problem!

That one sucks though :s

I am on Amisulpride and Seroquel. The main side effects are fatigue, sedation (sleeping for 10 hours a night), weight gain (about 10 kilos), short attention span (can only read a book for 10-15 minutes), high prolactin level (causing lack of sex drive and sciatic pain).

I take geodon and seroquel. A physical weakening of my body is the most pronounced effect. Also, an inability to tolerate very much bad weather - hot or cold. It makes simple jobs like mowing the lawn a lot harder.

I take Latuda, Seroquel, Remeron, and Klonopin. The Latuda is pretty clean of side effects. But the others cause pretty significant sedation.

The Seroquel has also caused me to gain around 20 lbs. Thank God, I’ve lost about 10 through vigorous exercise.

Blessings,

Anthony

As everyone else said the weight gain is the worst. I gained 145 pounds since going on the meds again. It was my fault too. Because of the illness I stopped exercising and making good food choices. The meds made me a bottomless pit. I couldn’t stop eating. One weird side effect of Seroquel is when I am first getting used to it at a higher dose, the sedation makes me disassociated and psychotic. It feels like I am stoned. Like when you smoke pot and become paranoid, but aside from the paranoia I have hallucinations and thought blocking. It’s really quite scary. The Risperdal increased my Prolactin which stopped my period. The Lithium caused hyperparathyroidism which caused kidney stones and increased calcium in my blood. When the surgeon went in to remove my parathyroid, one of the glands was five times its normal size. I’ve been on meds since I was 13, I’m 30 now, and the effects of being on meds so long are effecting my body. I’ve been losing weight and trying to be healthier. I’ve lost 28lbs of the weight I’ve gained and hope to keep losing it. :sunny:

I’m on Seroquel and Latuda. When I’m on higher doses of Seroquel, I’m so tired and sleepy. It was really hard to get up an moving. I do have to watch my weight, I feel lucky that I have a fairly physical job.

It has amped up my blood sugar… now I’m on metformin so I don’t go diabetic.

But when the seroquel got lowered and the Latuda added… I was doing much better. I do have some restless bouts on the higher dose of latuda now, but if I exercise enough, I can combat that.

I’m on amisulpride, which the most noticeable side effects to me is sexual dysfunction (probably due to prolactin levels) and weight gain. Also increased appetite.

I think the only side effect I’ve experienced on mine is weight gain. I was looking good back when I was crazy too. Other than that it’s a little difficult to tell, nothing jumps out at me, nothing particularly bothering me. Other possible side effects such as lack of motivation can be the result of Sz it’s self anyway so who knows.

Overall, of all the meds I’ve ever taken, I’d say the most common side effect was drowsiness.

Sleepiness with the Saphris.

drowsiness is the biggest problem. Once in a blue moon I get muscle stiffness, and occasionally get constipation, but I don’t know if the constipation is because of my bad diet or medication…or both.

The side effect that bothers me the most is dry mouth and dry throat. I take abilify and prolixin and Cogentin.

Risperdone, chest pain, chest lump, getting tired easely, unable to stand still, i have to chenge position always, high heart rate, low motivation, not taking risky and right actions, not being able to think quick, not understanding the meaning right away,
