What is the cause of negative symptoms in a person with sz?

Are they caused by the meds we take or are they part of the illness?

Has anyone here got out of negative symptoms and doing well?

You got to work on your self.
It takes time, but if you are more active you could easily overcome negatives.
Also, with time it gets better.

My pdoc says negatives are from the meds.

Its both the meds and the sz. I have negative symptoms even off meds and before I was diagnosed with sz. I read in studies that 76% of szics experience their negative and cognitive symptoms in prodromal sz before their diagnosis and before their 1st psychosis. It was the case for me.

There are three things that look similar. Specifically, depression, over medication with antipsychotics, and the negative symptoms of schizophrenia look similar. It is important to know what one is looking at because treatment varies from one to the others.

That would make a lot of sense for me with the negatives. All of my cognitive symptoms started after SzA
