What I think about my doctors

They are causing me torture without even being aware and living their life normally while I ■■■■■■■ suffer and they even get thousands of dollars for acting up like they know what they doing while I die to get a few hundred dollars each month.

I’m sorry to hear you seem to be going through a really tough time

Yeah my doctor doesn’t know what she’s talking about with some things. And when I told her something today she didn’t believe me and said I imagined a medication reaction, which was very severe.

I’ve had good ones and bad ones. Never any psychiatrists. I’ve been lucky with that but general practitioners I’ve had a couple of really bad ones and that is on general health.

Psychiatry is an art at any level these days. What meds work for some won’t work for another and getting people to wellness takes some time and effort in a system where 15 minute appointments are common at least over here!

If your not getting joy. Get a second opinion if possible. Especially if your paying. I know it’s a stuffed up system but there’s some really good people out there doing their best in mental health and I’m glad I’ve run into them!

I’ve had good ones and bad ones… I’m currently wearing an ankle GPS monitor cuz one of the bad ones took out a restraining order on me which I violated by going to a community forum at the local hospital in April (why did she wait 3 mos to have me arrested?). All because I threatened her in December when I’d been off my meds for 2 months. You would think a psychiatrist would have better conflict resolution skills than simply getting a restraining order…

Mate. I had a mate who was a psychiatric nurse. Violence on the wards is way too common and even if your psychotic you know what is right most times. Alls I’m saying. You threaten someone then such legal constraints are necessary for the staff to survive. I really could tell you some stories from what I’ve heard from my mate.

I agree to the most degree…I don’t mind the ankle monitor so much anymore (had it 2.5 weeks now) and can see things better from other perspectives now, but I still think she’s a lousy doctor. She told them in court that she was getting hang up calls and someone stole her license plate and she thinks it was me (it definitely was not). She’s paranoid…so was i, but my meds and therapy are good now. I’m way calmer. I still don’t get why they didn’t just arrest me in April, tho…

Mate. It is what it is. I don’t know the story and can’t/won’t comment but threats of any nature aren’t cool. I know we suffer but you pay a price for everything. Hang in there. How long you have the ankle strap on for till your good?..I’d find getting another psychiatrist to be a bigger problem! A good one of them is hard to find!

Well, I’ll have the monitor on at least til mid-September. The problem is that this doc is the medical director of the town’s only inpatient unit, but since she has the restraining order on me, it means I’ll be boarded in the ER until a bed opens up at the facility in Anchorage…which means generally at least 2 weeks spent in the ER without any therapy, no one to talk to, and nothing to do. So I’m doing my best to avoid hospitals totally right now even when I’m doing poorly.

Not the best situation but get through how you can till september. I’m sure if your struggling something could be arranged but still. Lesson learned. Big change to your treatment. I would have fired off a shite load of apologies already. Seems court orders like people who are playing the game from what I’ve seen.

As I say. It is what it is. Make the best of your circumstance till you can get back on an even keel!

Thank you, rogueone! I will take your advice to heart and can definitely admit that I’ve learned a lot about myself from the whole experience. It IS a good humbling lesson.
