What I learn about Australia and Singapore

The only two countries I had been to.

I took times to read the Wikipedia articles on Australia and Singapore.

Here’s the brief highlights from what I read:

  • The name “Australia” was originated from the “Terra Australis Incognita” (in which the Latin word “Incognita” reminds me of Google Chrome “Incognito”(anonymous) browsing mode)
  • Singapore owns the second largest telecommunication company Optus in Australia

I also took times to read the history of Malaysia. The old Malaya was a colony of Portugal back in 1511. This reminds me of a documentary which mentioned the Western worlds came into power only 500 years ago.

Of course, there are more information if you read them yourself.

They have at least two of the most livable cities in the world.

Canberra is the capital city of Australia, as a result of dispute between Sydney and Melbourne. I find it funny that Canberra was chosen because it is situated between the two cities.
