What happened to Goth culture that this is the norm? Like fluro leg warmers? I’m 48 today and I suspect I missed something hahah…is this the modern Goth? Do they even listen to the Sisters of Mercy these days?

They really underwent a weird angry change in the late 90s/early 00s. My goth experience was pale skin, Victorian mourning dress, lots of Cure, Bauhaus, Joy Division, Nick Cave, SoM, Legendary Pink Dots, Teargarden, and a deep appreciation of the beautiful and sad.
Then it all went wrong.
It was strong fad that has sort of faded… it’s been accepted and then casualized because people didn’t that it became stereotypical.
… or at least that’s my take on it.
