What do we mean by a cure?

Are we talking about a one off treatment that permanently takes away the illness, or are we talking about something that you have to take regularly but that is totally effective in treating symptoms and with a better side effect profile ?

I personally believe the latter is the most realistically achievable scenario.

I wouldn’t mind spending the rest of my life taking a bunch of pills, if they were truly effective.

Yes now my importance shifted from cure to effective treatment. .

Hi firemonkey are u talking to me…cuz i talk about cure more often…life is just miserable. .

Yes i know that…i talked about cure more often cuz i can’t work…and there is no any disablility money in my country …my parents has to suffer due to me man…

It depends. For pills to be as good as a cure, they have to be super effective in treating symptoms,
cause no side effects(not serious at least), and to be affordable for all of us(and preferably free of charge).

Yes, the latter would do me.

I don’t think it’s within our wildest comprehension what the future of psychiatry will bring and the process by which they treat psychosis. I certainly hope it comes sooner rather than later and there are incremental improvements in the meds along the way to tide us over.

I get the feeling that the damage for some of us isn’t as bad as it feels. It seems like it only takes a minor imbalance to cause a lot of distress. I’m hoping this is the case actually. I get told a lot that there are worse things than this. This is pretty bad though. But yea as I get my sanity back I start to feel robbed of a lot of things in life. It’s definitely an alternative lifestyle having serious mental illness.

My sanity had packed it’s suitcase left long ago

i want a pill that turns me back to the person i was before sz.

A Cure .

A cure for me means I wake up one day without the label stuck on my forehead.

Definitely the second option is more realistic.

I guess the second one is more realistic. Would be nice if it was cheap and affordable too. And if the stigma was gone.
