What are the voices?

Using current tech yep. Quantum computer much faster. I guess that is why we are doing the brain initiative in the U.S. and other parts of the world.

quantum computing isn’t faster… it’s got a few benefits…

it’s more about electromagnetic recording in ultra high definition… post analysis and then mapping… then there would always be an analytical phase for reconstruction… you’d also need a good VR set up to mimic the human experience… at least for visuals and sound… and then it would still probably lack accurate representation of the cognitive interaction that some of us experience with our voices…

you have to sort it out for yourself… understand YOUR illness through your own experience… but communicating with other sufferers can provide a lot of insight.

perhaps someday mate… but it’d probably require some super implant and a cyber space jack like seen in the matrix…

traditional computing still has a lot of potential… electricity travels at tremendous speeds… on the small scale of a processor… it’s practically instantaneous… the bus speeds and all that is a setting in refresh rates… they are kept low due to information processing limits and heat reduction… better materials… like the long sought room temp super conductor… would allow for things like 3d processors and what not…

you basically need an MRI machine to utilize a quantum computer…

it’s as feasible as micro fusion reactors… we can even get the large scale working for more than a few moments (last I heard)

For the sake of sharing; because the question has been posed: the voices I hear, and the creatures I see are real. There are angels who serve God and there are angels who have fallen and become the demons who love to torment. I didn’t make them up. They already existed, and they came to me and have never left for over 30 years. One protects me. I see, hear and feel ā€œhimā€ always with me. Other smaller ones tell me I’m worthless, no one loves me, etc, They want me destroyed. I don’t think that up. That sounds crazy, that I would think up these things. I am my own being. I’m seperate. But that’s just me.

Yep to map the signals at a quantum speed. Not in our lifetimes but they have already started from mapping what part of the brain lights up when we see a face, house, car ect… Now they can ask a person if thry are looking at a hpuse when they flash a picture to a person and be 90% correct. It has already begun.

The age of neuroscience… it’s gonna be a strange time

welcome to the forum… I don’t believe I’ve spoken with you before

Ohh why thank you. Happy to help by describing my experiences. I am excited by the advancements but worried about ethical applications. Fun times ahead.

Indeed…

Along side AI.,… a more important field has developed… the ethics and rules about AI design…

but those people are just afraid…

You know what they say ā€œFear is the mind killerā€.- Dune

and of course

ā€œnothing to fear but fear itselfā€

I don’t mind fear though… keeps me sharp and prepared when it is put in context…

Bravery is the ultimate asset of humankind… you have to be afraid to be brave… otherwise you’re probably just stupid for not understanding all the ends of the risks you’re taking

When I get afraid I gather more intel then make a choice. It may change base on in coming information. Ultimately the more I know the less scared I am about my surroundings. I don’t need to comtrol it just need to understand how it works for better risk assesment.

You are wise and thoughtful… I’m sorry you got hit with this illness.

Thanks blush It hit me at 30 so at 32 I just view it as expanded sensory experience. It is just overwhelming at times. I gotta keep my internal world balanced with my external experence. Just a new challenge. Challenge accepted.

You gotta accept it sometime… once you do and realize the responsibility entailed… that’s the only time it starts getting easier…

we do have emoji for this in these parts

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought they mapped each individual person’s brain, not a blanket brain map for the entire population. So they show you a picture of a house, map your brain, then they can guess if you’re looking at a house without knowing what you are looking at. But if I remember correctly, that’s not transferable to the entire population. So my brain map of a house wouldnt be the same as yours, right?

Doesnt seem that sophisticated to me.

I think they do both. They have done a blanket composite from a group of peoples brain scan. To simplistic but it is a starting point. I Googled brain decoding and got this helpful video on the research.

I’ve been told by a doctor voices are your subconscious mind and your brain mistakenly thinks they’re auditory stimuli and makes them manifest as voices.

Thanks for sharing those. The last video was great.

My voices sound like they’re coming from the back of my brain FWIW.

But it’s interesting that he mentioned that the most important lesson was that you can fix one’s brain. Because the reason I started this thread in the first place was that I read some of what Carl Jung wrote about the ā€œcollective unconsciousā€ about a year ago, and got to thinking ā€œokay, but what the hell is that?ā€. I was in a bad place then, filled with paranoia, fear and worry.

But Jung explained psychosis as a ā€œtransformationā€ process for the personality. He thought it was the dream state seeping through to the conscious state. He explains seven dream state archetypes that are used to shape the personality. In psychosis, they are present consciously, manipulating your thought patterns.

So, in a way Jung saw psychosis as a way to fix people’s brains. Hope that doesnt offend anyone, LOL. But maybe it’s like a hardwired brain imaging/pre-crime system that’s kicking in for us (not that it’s fool proof and always right)

All that’s cool, but it still doesnt explain where the collective unconscious/dream state comes from or what it is.
