When I was a teen, I was often reading someone got a divorce on grounds of mental cruelty. I never could understand what mental cruelty meant until today I was thinking of my and my fathers mental problems and I came up with the term “intellectually cruel” and understood it right away.
At times I think about working to choose my words more carefully.
