Went to the dentist

And they went to town on my teeth today. They had to numb my gums and were scraping the crap out of my teeth

I’m having that done on the 18th. Not looking forward to it. Did your insurance pay for it?

My root canal that needs doing is close to a nerve so now I have to wait four months instead of 2 weeks

Pretty much my fault for not looking after them

@Joker , are you waiting that long because that’s the waitlist for the oral surgeon? I’ve never heard of waiting that long for removing a wisdom tooth.

It’s a root canal on one of my main lower teeth

The dentist has referred me to a specialist dentist because the root canal is very close to a nerve So he didn’t feel comfortable doing it

We have a weird hybrid dentist system in the UK

I checked and even though it’s a specialist it still costs me £75

In the US a root canal is about $1500.00+. However, you can get seen quickly, which is important because of pain and infection.

That is a lot of money! Does insurance cover it?

Think it’s cheaper here as they pool the resources and have bandings for different treatments

These days nearly impossible to get a national health service dentist

It would be my third root canal

I have to call if it gets worse etc for antibiotics or painkillers

We all pay extra taxes to cover it

Only some insurances di, and those insurances cost a lot of money per month. Many do not cover it

I have to go to the dentist on Monday, having a tooth removed and an implant.

I don’t know what works better

The US system seems very different to ours

I am supposed to go in for a cleaning, and I’m terrified that they’ll tell me that I have cavities. I still have braces on, and I’m still paying for the braces. I also have two teeth that are impacted in my palate, and their roots have fused with the bone. Now I’ll have to get the crowns of the impacted teeth cut off and get a bone graft followed by two implants. I’m looking at around $5,000 to get it taken care of, not counting the braces. And yes, that includes insurance coverage. My insurance limit is $1500, so it covers the exposure of my palate, the anesthesia, and some of the crown removals. What a mess.
