Weird thing happened today

This Sunday I went to a Christmas thing at a friends church. It was very churchy with a talky thing at the beginning and then lunch and kid stuff at the end. While the pastor was talking at the beginning of the whole thing he was talking about Christmas, and kept on repeating that “it’s Christmas.”
He said it a few times and then the last time he said it he turned towards me and pointed at me and said my name and that it was Christmas. I was pretty embarrassed and thought it was really weird but then noticed that no one looked at me. So I asked my sister if she thought it was weird that he said my name and she had no idea what I was talking about. I later asked a few other people if they herd what I herd, and apparently it never happened. Even though I am dead sure that he directly pointed and me and said my name during the rant. So weird why would I hallucinate such a thing?

I’ve had a similar thing happen. The news anchor on a TV show started speaking and pointing to me. Lucky for me, I was able to just turn the damn thing off. These are called “thoughts of reference.”

I’ve had similar experiences. One time I was delivering pizza and listening to the radio. I think I had been rather sour with the customers. This guy on the radio started talking about a pizza delivery guy who was being rude to customers. Then one time I was in Wal Mart thinking about getting some sweet tea in Mcdonald’s. This guy started talking out loud about getting hopped up on sugar and caffeine drinking sweet tea from Mcdonald’s. One time I went on this group outing even though I had a bad cold. An advertisement for the Red Cross came on the radio and said, “Stay away from people who are sick. If you’re sick stay home.” The frustrating thing is that there is no way I can test these things to see if they are real.

Oh thank Thor, you hallucinate like I do.

I guess it is just all in my head.

Maybe it just SOUNDED like your name. And he might have been pointing randomly around the room.

Maybe spiritually you wanted him to point at you? I d k…strange and wondrous.

@Nzbitnoff

I have had this happen to me… these quick glitches.

I’ve wondered why professors addressed me directly or accusingly during lectures… only to find that other class mates never heard it… when I go back and listen to my recording… it’s not there.

Its a bit uncomfortable to be sure. I have to chalk it up to… I know my brain misfires.

I hope you got to enjoy the rest of the day.

This is the problem with ‘spiritual experiences’. They always leave you hanging. I had one a few months ago which at the time felt absolutely real, and looking back even now there seems to be too many coincidences involved. I was pointed very firmly to Bacchus, the Roman god of wine. For days I became obsessed by this character and did so much research and thinking about it, that it felt like my brain was going to explode. But nothing came of it in the end. I was left bewildered by it.

Best wishes,
Padster
