You normally suffer when you’re not born to be healthy. Nobody wants death. Being sick is heaving one foot underground.

We are luckier we weren’t born disfigured or as animals like pig, chickens, cows etc.

I suppose it is the state of mind.

apparently even healthy people suffer

We do not suffer nearly as much today as we did in the past. Science and technology have made life much more comfortable. In the not-to-distant past many people had to work dirty, dangerous jobs for ridiculous hours. Now that is mostly gone. Pain medication wipes out much of our worst suffering. Electric lighting and indoor plumbing make life easier. Food is cheap and nourishing. Progress makes all our lives better, and in the next century humanity will probably suffer even less.

I think that suffering is in the state of mind. When I lived over two years in my auto in America with fleas, ants, cockroaches and other insects, I still did not feel suffering, although some people might have thought I lived in the hell, it is in the state of mind.

but we still suffer, we will always suffer, you can’t be happy all the time, thats impossible

maybe you were blind to it, i think someone can suffer blindly, i am sure i have heard that said before

human beings are cruel. It’s all we deserve !!

Not as much when you’re unhealthy. You carry that burden for a long time.

And in hindsight, the “suffering” i had when I was healthy was minor compared to now.

it is true that we all have different degrees of suffering at different times in our lives

We don’t normally realize how lucky we are already until it is gone.

Suffer is sometimes good becayse it makes you stronger but not to everyone can resist the suffering because it’s too strong that you breakdown

would be great if there was a suffer relief valve of some sort so when it gets too much you can let out the pressure so you don’t blow mentally

Why don’t you think there is? As it’s called crying and talking about it etc. When you look at all the mental illnesses it’s not doing these things that’s done the damage and builds up over the years.

our ability to cry must be broken, why wouldn’t we cry?

i thought it was natural, so why not cry and let it all out?

crying is a sign of strength imo, not a weakness

i didn’t cry, maybe that is my problem, i couldn’t let it out, i had no release :frowning:

I’m just as guilty on it as anyone and positive it’s a problem for all of us. Therapy has helped me a lot on it but I know I’ve still a long way to go. Try not to force it but do start talking a bit more on what you gone through. Crying is extremely cathartic especially when you know what you are crying about. Harder for males though as society tends to look down on those of us that do. But real men eat quiche too.

i was going to say that and i was wondering if maybe that was one of the reasons women usually get it later than men because the are able to express their feelings better and are not afraid to cry.

I’m sure there has been research done on it already.
