Twitter has always been a nasty place
Just an echo chamber
I think I saw somewhere that 5% of users make 90% of the content
The whole thing is garbage and always has been
It’s never been on the middle ground by some way
So many people build their opinions on very shaky grounds on the social media sites

All the major companies use it to make public announcements… in my case, I follow Video Game companies to keep abreast of new releases or limited time events. So I have to be there a little bit. I don’t actually post anything.

I think that’s perfectly good reason to use it
Before I used Facebook news feed for interests too
But unfortunately from what I can see is lots of arguing and hateful speech. Very toxic
Mostly I think that taking that sort of dialogue from the real to the virtual brings with it people treating each other poorly because they think they can get away with it
It’s starting to spill into how people treat each other IRL for the generations growing up with it
These platforms have such a hold over people
Not to mention the very unethical means they use in their algorithms to turn your activity into a money making tool.
I am only present on two forums now and use a VPN to try and stop these people trying to monetise
