Wow…very cool.
COOL! It’s a good thing having one around especially if you have a garden. They go after the rabbits. My friend has one in his backyard and he always has a good harvest.
Southern California
I wish we have bobcats living here.
I was a little worried at first because my youngest child is 9 years old and has Autism. He didn’t understand why he couldn’t go outside. But he is a pretty big boy so we eventually let him go outside and swing. I hear that bobcats don’t usually harm humans?
Can’t tell you for sure. But i think most wild animals run away from humans.
You wouldn’t think so. But if you are concerned maybe you could call the DNR and just ask an officer what they think of it.
@ThePickinSkunk thank you! I called around and was given the runaround. The Department of Wildlife said that they don’t remove wildcats that are not injured or trapped. They suggested making noise if we want it to leave.
They don’t bother with people. Most will run away from people of all sizes, though very small kids might not scare them.
I used to live in Southern California. I was afraid of my wolf hybrid getting out. She looked like a coyote. They came down from the mountains on trash day and were all over the neighborhood.
That’s so cool!!!
Yeah, wild animals usually avoid humans but we encroach on their space by razing their habitats and building houses there and so you are going to get the occasional run-in with possums, bobcats or coyotes etc. I live in the South Bay Area in California where to make Silicon Valley they cut down most orchards and built houses in the surrounding hills and several years ago there were several incidents with people spotting mountain lions roaming around neighborhoods and local city parks. In fact my mom and step-dad lived in a gated community south of me and it was normal to see many deer walking around behind their house, and turkeys and once my mom even saw a mountain lion walk by. My sister rented out a spare room in her condo to me in the suburbs and we regularly saw opossums scurrying about on fences and in our back yard.
