I’m on 1 mg risperidone in addition to 20 mg of olanzapine. It’s a good combo for me
Im on invega which is a metabolite of risperidone I like it a lot more than risperidone
One thing about Risperidone…I cannot stay warm on it!
Even when it’s in the 60s, I am wearing a tee, sweatshirt, jeans, and socks.
Soon I will be wearing two pairs of socks, and I just ordered four sets of thermal long underwear…ooh sexy!
I am also sleeping under two comforters already.
WTF am I gonna do when it’s 40 and below? Thank God I’m not in Calgary anymore lol!!

I am doing great on 6mg risperidone
I’m on 4 mg. Probably going to go down on it though.
Yeah I’m on 4mg too @SkinnyMe
I’d like to go down in dose as well
Risperidone was difficult for me. I was on 2mg I think. It didn’t handle my symptoms well, and I couldn’t drink caffeine on it otherwise I was in a lot of psychological pain. Eventually I switched to brexpiprazole and things settled down.
I was on 4 mg of risperidone, it worked well, but I went on Paliperidone because I wanted to go on the shot.
2 mg Risperidone was working for me but it also sedated me heavily. I wouldn’t be opposed to going back on it if I needed though now that I’m on the right adhd med. with better focus and motivation I bet it’d be easier to power through.
I should note I wasn’t content with just risperidone at first, I was prescribed prozac for what they thought was depression and that made me way out of whack, I couldn’t even sit down to calm myself. Then I was prescribed venlafaxine and it worked wonders after a while, I had no more panic or inner turmoil to deal with.
That’s great @Revv1!
Well. I am reducing my Risperidone from 12 mg back to 8, as of this morning.
I think it is messing with my prolactin like Invega did. TMI, my breasts hurt all the time and feel heavy, but are not leaking.
I am getting fibromyalgia pain and stiffness again for the first time in many years, especially overnight. Aleve doesn’t help, and Tylenol never works for me.
Both side effects are only since going to 12 mg eight days ago.
I see my pnurse tomorrow and will tell her then. She gives me leeway to listen to my body.
The way i look at it is taking a hospital dose to stabilize, then going on a maintenance dose. Something’s gotta give. I adore the symptom control I’m getting, so I don’t want to come off it.
We’ve already talked about how my sza is very treatment resistant.
I only have Caplyta standing between me and Clozapine, after trying eight different APs. I’m not scared of the drug itself, just all the high maintenance blood work and stuff…
Well good luck with the reduction @Shmookitty
5 years on 2 mg for autoaggression and self-harm. Literally 0 side effects. Still going strong.
What’s that?? 1515
Basically another terminology for self harm. My bad. I should have used impulsiveness and irritability on that place.
Terrible med. Made me worse.
I’m only on 1mg Risperdal with 300mg Trileptal. I am going to ask to increase my doses to 2mg and 600mg as I am having some breakthrough symptoms. A few years ago, they got me up to 4mg and I had horrible akathisia. I have low tolerance for AP’s, sadly. I get profound side effects from low doses. I wish I could take more.
Can I ask if you are male? or female? 2mg is a very low dose. I am happy it is working for you. Does dose have to do with body weight?
