So today I walked to a store to get some ciggies and when I was near my flat I found my technical neighbor (his mom lives in thr flat below, he often stays there. My neighbor is ex criminal and he managed to convince my 2nd neighbor who was already heavily drunk to help neighbor no.1. Neighbor no.1 gave me a handshake and said someone is coming to beat him up, i instinctively said im just going to stay at home and I was called by various demeaning words by both neighbors. Did i make a right choice not to go into a fight?

Dont know exactly, im afraid to be now harassed by both neighbors as being seen as a “coward”

It does, it seems it was lose-lose situation whatever I had chosen. I also didnt joing the potential fight as they are not my friends, I doubt that they even know my name

i mean if the other person is not going to call the police etc. i.e. take steps to protect himself, but rather consent to the fight then i dont see why you should have to get involved.
If he suddenly got jumped or something then id say its good to help. But if the guy knows someones coming and just stands there agreeing to it, why the hell should you have to engage in a fight thats not yours.
