Volunteering and how to make a difference

I don’t know if I’ll volunteer again in the free meals centers in the Quad Cities. Most who do are out of touch. I’m trying to get set up as a pen pal for Veterans, send cards, letters, poems, drawings, coloring. I’m waiting to hear back about if I can, and how I can get it to them, it’s in Des Moines. I just am starting to tell everyone I have volunteered here locally with Stand Down,
and many other things.
I have pd. sz, ptsd, and I’m a recovering alcoholic.

It makes it all the more worthwhile when you feel passionate about what you are volunteering for and putting your heart into it

@Daze, What is pd? 1515151515151515

When we are not in covid lockdown, I volunteer for my local nursing home. I am passionate about it too. I visit with the residents and try to engage them in conversation. I try to look after their needs too but it is hard when all the staff block your every effort.

Pd is paranoid for paranoid schizophrenia.

I think adopting soldiers is a great idea. I did it for 15 years. Feel free to ask questions if you have any
