Video Game Thread 11.0

I installed Shadow Of Mordor. I played it like 7 years ago but couldn’t get into it for some reason. Playing it with mouse and keyboard feels a lot better and Im enjoying it a lot. Wish there were more action/stealth AAA single player games out there.

Also been playing Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord. Played it when it first came out during covid. Now that its been out so long there are lots of guides and player comments to assist me when I get stuck. My biggest gripe with it is there are no diplomacy options. Like you can’t do joint wars or pacts of no aggression etc. Other than that its fun.

The new Indiana Jones game
Assassins Creed
Hitman
Splinter Cell
Manhunt

Are a few stealth games that come to mind.

Been playing

  • UFO 50 (pc only), it’s a collection of 50 retro looking games, all having pretty high quality.
  • Golf story (switch). A 2d top down golf game, with a story, just like the name lol.
  • Star Wars KOTOR (pc). It’s from 2003, played it back then. The story is pretty greart. The graphics a bit dated ofc but I still like the style. I haven’t played it for long enough to say if the gameplay holds up, the mechanics are pretty basic in the beginning, but it will become more complex more into the game from what I understand.
  • PUBG (pc). It’s always fun, you can never really get tired of it I’ve found.

Also I downloaded the bioshock collection on switch on sale. The first is on my top 10 best games, so maybe I’ll give it a playthrough.

Oh I meant like recent ones that are good. I know the genre very well. Played a couple of Splinter Cells and some of the early AC’s. Some Hitman. The other two don’t really interest me.
My favourites are definitely MGS, and the first Dishonored. Where stealth and action intertwine but you can play either way. Dishonored 2 had better visuals and more refined mechanics but the plot and premise were just awful and very uninspired. Left a sour taste in my mouth.

Completely forgot about Dishonored.

Haven’t played the 2nd one, first one was very good.

Have u played Dishonored: Death Of The Outsider ?

No. Mostly because I disliked the story in Dishonored 2 so much. I didn’t really care for their vision of the series.

No, but I imagine it would do pretty well. My beta progress for Rivals is on my Xbox so that’s where I’ve been playing it. The only negative to playing it on Ally X is I’m used to running an ethernet connection but this would be wifi, but it should still be fast.

The most demanding games I’ve run have been Elden Ring and Fallout 4 and maybe Baldur’s Gate 3. Also Halo Infinite worked really well on it. So as long as it’s not optimized poorly for pc’s in general it should run well. I’ll let you know when I’ve actually played it though. I’m still considering using the PC account instead for my Rivals progress just because I could play it on the Ally X. All I’d really lose is my blue Venom costume.

I’ve seen people complain that death of the outsider often forces you to go through rooms of guards without an alternate way past. Will see if that’s true because I got it free on epic

Halo and gears of war are to PlayStation very soon. Epic

I beat the main game and got all achievements and 2 of every item and got to New Game +3. I thought I was hot ■■■■. Then they released Shadow of the Erdtree and I got stomped and figured “you know what, maybe I won’t put myself through this again.” And just turned it off forever haha.

I like playing it without the DLC personally. Maybe I’ll try again someday.

I think instead of getting a ps5 I’m gonna get the ASUS rog alloy x to pair with my steam deck oled.

The ps5 doesn’t have that many exclusives that aren’t on pc.
