I am about to get put on Valproic acid for bipolar. What does it do to you? Zombie? Hair loss?
I’ve been on Depakote for my bipolar for years.
At doses above 1000mg it can zonk you out.
Also it can make you gain weight especially over the 1000mg mark.
It’s a potent med for mood stabilization especially effective for mania and mixed states.
It also helps my depression.
Made me lose my hair, especially around crown. I was on 500mg twice a day. Other then that I noticed it improved my irritability so not so snappy. I suffer from mixed state.
