Mashable news: "Hackers just took down YouTube’s most popular video "…
"Early Tuesday morning, hackers defaced a number of music videos that were posted to YouTube by Vevo accounts. Among the affected videos was the world-famous music video by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, which was taken down. "
On the internet, nothing is safe. Not even “Despacito.”
Are they taking requests? Can we delete Logan Paul?
It should be mentioned that YouTube itself wasn’t hacked but rather the attackers were able to get into VEVO’s content owner (CMS) in which every channel connected to a CMS. Their video information can be changed remotely without having to access to channels directly. Probably a VEVO employee with CMS access tied to their Google account fell victim to a phishing attack or they got a hold of a stash of credentials etc.
