Youtube is no less safe than fb… google… random forums… here… the only way you would be 100% safe is to never be online…ever…
They hacked the account. They got the password and logged in. That’s very different from using YouTube to give you a virus that tracks you.

It should be mentioned that YouTube itself wasn’t hacked but rather the attackers were able to get into VEVO’s content owner (CMS) in which every channel connected to a CMS. Their video information can be changed remotely without having to access to channels directly. Probably a VEVO employee with CMS access tied to their Google account fell victim to a phishing attack or they got a hold of a stash of credentials etc.
Also vevo is glorified slavery… if your label releases its video content through vevo you get .5 cents per thosand$… they deserve to be hacked…

You are right. If you invade YouTube, they may not only delete a few videos.Technically. YouTube is safe. It’s almost impossible to invade.
You have not found interest in youtube?.. you should look again… and outside of the recommended and popular…
That literally happens all the time. YouTube can recover the videos with all the data. Nothing is ever lost.
