They didn’t admit me into the hospital because every hospital was packed full. So, imma just fight this illness and live a regular life.
As for now, I’m headed to Planet Fitness to workout, which I’m so freaking happy about! What’s everyone else doing for new years??
Did they just leave it at that?!
Did you at least get taken to the ER and get evaluated by a doctor? What did they say?
He went to the ER and was evaluated and they didn’t admit him because there were no beds. That’s what he said ma’am.
They made sure that they found a bed for me when I went to the ER.
I had to wait 24 hours before something opened up.
I don’t get it.
But I was Involuntary both times.
Probably because he lives in Kentucky, which is full of cracker hillbillies. I’ve gone to the trauma center here in SC and had a doctor take a look at me and say “Oh you don’t look psychotic to me” and send me home, wouldn’t even let me talk to a psychiatrist. This is America, shouldn’t surprise anyone that we don’t get the care we need.
Yeah where I live they love to commit people.(Involuntarily)
If you suffer with a severe mental illness and go to the ER for any issue, chances are that you will eventually be sent to a psych ward against your will.
It’s awful.
I’m afraid to go to the ER now.
@Sooner88 He actually didn’t exactly say that. “They” was unspecified (was it the EMTs, was it the ER docs) Also, I find it hard to believe that a patient is turned away solely due to capacity issues. I’d think the ER would at least keep him for a while for observation.
Well perhaps neither of us should make assumptions. Ask him about it when he gets back from the gym
That was the point of my original post. I was asking him.
Not drinking, that’s for damn sure.
My family couldn’t all get together for Christmas because of conflicting schedules so we are celebrating Christmas, on New Years day. Sorry, other details are top secret and not forthcoming due to time restraints. Good luck and take care of yourself.
Please don’t hesitate to go back to the ER if you are reaching a crisis situation? Happy New Year’s to you! Hope you manage alright through the next few days.
Drugs in America is a big problem because of the mafia.
As @shutterbug said, don’t hesitate to go to the ER again if you need to do so. I’m a Planet Fitness member myself, love it there. All day I’ve been planning on going there, but I can’t find the motivation to get off my arse, even though I know workouts always make me feel good. Maybe I’ll go soon. I have a psych NP friend who likes to say, “30 minutes of exercise is worth 20 mg of Prozac.”
Same problem with motivation so that I stopped my membership to fitness center.
