Okay so update on the baby bird I saved not to long ago… He’s gone, he left, he flew the coop!
So yesterday I took him out for maybe 5 min and brought him back in so he could get use to outside a bit. This morning I took him out again and a cat started stocking him so I ran the cat off and my mom suggested to move him to where he had more cover but could still reach him in case he gets in trouble. I went to fetch the little guy and I went to grab him and he tried to fly off and landed on the ground where I picked him up. My mom came outside and I told her what happened and she said that’s good. She pointed out a good spot in the middle of a bush and we went inside and came out about ever 3- 5 min on the third round of trying to find him he was gone and there were no bird feathers on the ground and I looked on the ground and couldn’t find him at all so I hope he is doing well from now on and all I can do is hope he does well.
Here’s a little baby bird I tried to save a few years back. He got in a fight with another bird in midair and ended up grounded with an injured wing.
I called the bird of prey centre here and everything but he couldn’t be saved
@Twialine, @Wave, that’s cool that you guys are birdwatchers. I tried to be a birdwatcher myself a few years back. Got myself binoculars, a book on birds, a birdhouse and some seeds. But, the blackbirds in my neighborhood are ubiquitous and very aggressive. Knocking the heads off of the other, beautiful birds, trying to grab food. I was so disgusted with the blackbirds and their behavior that I quit birdwatching.
