These are also known as intrusive thoughts right?
I know a lot of people here get them, but I read somewhere that they’re related to OCD rather than schizophrenia

they’re reading my thoughts, and how to make them good enough.

what a struggle. sucks.

How i like to hear this! I always feel like such a bad person and so alone when i have intrusive thoughts. I dont have them now, but if i do, i get real upset, thinking im the only one. This is helpful.

I rarely have intrusive thoughts. I have thought insertion by Lucifer, violent, homicidal, suicidal

Not to attack or judge you, but i used to see unwanted thoughts in such a way. Now i believe its just my own intrusive thoughts. It is a matter of interpretation, i guess. Wouldnt it help you to see it as just intrusive thoughts? I know i was scared when i thought as you do…but im not you of course.

Thought insertion is thought that is not yours, it’s inserted into your mind. This is exactly my case. I also have intrusive thoughts and they come from me

I do not personally believe in thought insertion, but what is the difference for you in how you experience it? Why do you feel some thoughts are from outside you?

Thought insertion is the typical schizophrenic symptom. Intrusive thoughts are OCD.

Unbidden thoughts are thoughts that come to mind without the subject directly or consciously meaning to think them. Inserted thoughts, while sharing the characteristic of unconsciously or indirectly being conjured, are distinct from unbidden thoughts because of the author of the thoughts. During an experience of unbidden thinking, the subject knows that they are the author of the thought even though they may not have consciously meant to think it. During the feeling of thought insertion, however, the subject feels as though the thought belongs to another person and was inserted into their own mind, making the author of the thought someone other than themselves

Interesting read, thanks. I find it especially interesting that they can easily create a fake experience of thought insertion in 72% of “healthy” people.

I hope you get rid of it…it seems stressful.
