Unabomber Ted Kaczynski found dead in US prison cell

A test as a boy revealed he possessed an IQ of 167, and he had skipped two grades to attend Harvard University aged just 16.

FBI agents described him as “a twisted genius who aspires to be the perfect, anonymous killer” and he was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic by a psychiatrist who interviewed him in prison.

Let him Rest In Peace

I doubt he was sz…that makes me mad.

I take it you haven’t read his published manifesto or book?

He writes like someone with SZ would, albeit it is very informed writing. He was an educated and intelligent man.

he wrote a book…he is a genius…he could feign sz if he wanted to which is probably the case…still makes me mad.

You read his work and see the level of fixation and it stands out if you have SZ. It’s like how I can nearly instantly spot other people on the autism spectrum.

Honestly it doesn’t really make a difference if he was or wasn’t. At the end of the day we’re all just people and unfortunately people are capable of vile things. If he had sz that doesn’t absolve him of commiting absolutely heinous crimes.

Not to mention we can’t just claim that people we don’t like aren’t mentally ill. Cause that leads to it’s own problems

His extreme climate change beliefs would make a lot more sense if really is schizophrenic. :face_with_monocle:

I used to have a job in college as a system administrator, working for a place called the California forestry association in Sacramento, which was the last place that Kaczynski hit before he was captured. My dad worked there as well, and was at work that day (I slept in, luckily). He was lucky to have been out of the room where the bomb went off, but our mutual boss, Gil Murray, was blown in half. I sometimes wonder if the extreme stress of that incident and its aftermath caused my psychotic break, four years later…

The fact that he was a genius doesn’t impress me.

I say good riddance

Honestly yes. SZ or not he was too dangerous to be allowed to roam free.

Yeah, I saw that. I would have posted it a few days ago but I thought the thread would get shut down.
