Ultrasound

I have to chug a TON of water for this ultrasound. I hate it, tbh, I’ve had to have a bunch of them already, because of a fibroid I have that keeps causing issues. You have to have a full bladder for the ultrasound, and it is…internal :sob:

The wand they use is WAY too big to be internal, in my opinion. I hate it because my stomach is too sloshy for water, but I need to keep drinking water, I have to pee very badly, but I’m not allowed, and then it hurts and the ultrasound tech ALWAYS insists the wand isn’t even that big, and I have no reason to make a fuss. Listen, some of us are not used to having things go in there on a regular basis! The fact that I adopted should be a clue there!

It also makes me feel hella dysphoric because of the way the doctors talk about things, they are not trans-friendly at ALL and keep calling me a girl even though it is in my records to not do that. But the trans-friendly doctor doesn’t specialize in the stuff i need done so I have to suck it up. Wahhh complain complain complain. Leave me silly memes to cheer me up.

I’ve had that test before.

It’s miserable.

The pressure the wand puts on your bladder is horrible.

I hope you get the test over and done quick so you can pee already.

Here’s Baby Cakes having a bad day too:

I’ve had to do that lots of times. It really sucks. But one time they told me once I have to pee really badly then I can stop drinking water. Not sure if every dr feels the same

Oof. I hate that one. Really uncomfortable. Some stranger moving that wand around like a joystick while you’re ready to burst.

For awhile I had ultrasounds on a regular basis and the place I went had a habit of telling me to come with that full bladder every time, even though some appointments didn’t require it. I guess they were too lazy to check? Anyway, I was super pissed when I’d get there and they’d immediately tell me to empty my bladder because that last hour is so uncomfortable. I said something about it a few times and they would just shrug. :rage:

You’ll never guess what they just told me

Number of times ive been called Girl so far: 3

Can you file suit over being called incorrect pronouns? I haven’t seen ambulance chaser ads on TV about it, but when people complain enough, there’s usually some money to be made.

Short answer, no. Long answer, it is VERY hard to prove discrimination and as long as they are still providing me an equal level of care there is nothing to be done about it. I have exactly 1 doctor out of like 11 who bothers to remember to use gender neutral language. We generally just suck it up because it is WAY more likely that speaking up about it will lead to a drop in quality of care than that the doctor will actually change.

The idea that people can be sued over using the wrong pronouns is very much made up anti-trans propoganda.
