UK folks - do you have to go inpatient to start clozapine?

I really don’t want 28 days on the ward

I read somewhere it can be initiated in the community … Where did you read it has to be done as an inpatient ?

I’ve had it before and the doc said it had to be in the hospital. This was decades ago though

I would have a word with the pdoc. I’m sure there’s an alternative option. Maybe a team that can treat you at home

A fellow sz i know went on it - and it was done in the community - he had the crisis team contact him daily instead. Probably due to lack of beds - as per usual.
