What @rainstorm said. Two factor authentication is always a good idea. If you use gmail it’s a must imo because your mail should be what you want to keep most safe. If someone access your mail they suddenly have access to many other sites you’re registered on.
@Rainstorm@magz I haven’t changed my passwords in years, but because of this I forced logouts of the devices I didn’t recognize and changed my Google password and WiFi password after I discovered this.
I got lazy and didn’t use two factor authentication on my old Instagram account, which got hacked. Having over 3,400 images made me a target. I was able to save all the images and have been slowly adding them back to my new Instagram which DOES have TFA. I now use it religiously, everywhere. I also make a point of changing my passwords once a year and have upgraded all to new, secure passphrases.
Strange. I did a “Power Wash” on my Chromebook, and Google did the TFA the first time I logged in, but it didn’t ask me again the second time. A power wash is a factory reset on a Chromebook.
