How are you feeling? Didn’t you have a pdoc appointment yesterday?
@Twialine I hope your pdoc was able to help you.
Let us know how you are doing this morning.
I went to the pdoc yesterday and they reraised my ingrezza back to where it was and are sending me to a specialist to talk about possibly getting pregnant and what the steps would be in doing so. She said it’s NOT recommended for someone with my disorders and history to get pregnant at all but there are specialists that can help me do so if I wish.
David and I are also looking into adopting in a few years since this has really scared me although we are going to see the specialist to see what they say… It is a 5-6 hour drive to get to the specialist and my foot can’t make the drive so my husband has volunteered to do it
Thank you for asking
That’s a long drive! I’m hoping he’s able to help.
@TheFountainPen I hope so too, and to calm my fears… I was scared of getting pregnant in general and I can deal with that but now I’m looking at other complications
I hope the increased dose helps. If you decide to go the adoption route, there’s so many kids who need a home and family. You would be such a blessing to them
I don’t want kids. I hope you have a little one though. Hugs
Seems to me you are not doing well and should focus on your own health before seeing a pregnancy specialist.
I don’t even know how you said what you did in the same breath.
You should consider what the doctor is telling you.
And adoption is super, super difficult.
My son’s parents spent a lot of money during the course of their adoption story.
Well into six figures.
And it took years,
Soul crushing years.
You’re putting a lot of unnecessary stress on yourself about children.
@Charles_Foster I would adopt though children services so it would be free, it would just take time and work on our part. I was doing well until the med change
@roxanna thanks
@LilyoftheValley at this point I think adopting in a few years maybe best
Whatever you do, whatever you decide, I wish you the best of luck. I hope health and happiness are on your side.
A girl in the same ward as me was a foster for children in the system. She and her wife sounded incredible, and she had such a calm, collected voice. She had the same diagnosis as me, but she was very involved in life. She also had older biological children.
I missed something, so I’m sorry for asking you to repeat, but what happened to your foot?
@Happy_H thank you. I had ankle surgery on my Achilles tendonitis and bone spur
Oof. I’m so sorry.
@Happy_H it’s okay, I’m doing okay
@Charles_Foster makes a good point about making sure you’re stable first. I think if you get your meds right and work hard in therapy for a while you’ll be able to consider being a really good parent. I wish you the best of luck
@LilyoftheValley well they gotta change my meds to even start the process so I’ll be unstable at first even before trying, Idk what to do at this point I think a biological kid within a few years then adopt a kid or two a few years later maybe
Or wait a few years and adopt without biological kids
@Charles_Foster idk what to do anymore they gotta change all of my meds so I’ll be unstable for a while anyways
I hope you get stable and can make your dream come true. Best of luck!
Thanks @LilyoftheValley I appreciate that
