Has anyone been prescribed clomipramine or some other tricyclic?
I’m gonna try this med soon, but not sure what to expect… My pdoc is trying to ease my negatives.
I’m on amitriptyline, i um think it’s tricyclic ?
I honestly can’t say it’s helped with the negatives yet. Makes me super sleepy and my mouth dry as heck.
That’s about all i can say for it.

I take Doxepin at night to help me sleep. It worked at first but not anymore.

I took desipramine for a short period of time. The side effects were too great. I felt like I was high all the time. Like acid trip kinda high. It did help my depression and libido though just in the short period that I took it. I also took amitriptyline too but I don’t remember the effects.

I’ve tried all ordinary ADs and now I have no other option but tricyclics. Probably won’t cure negatives, but maybe they help more than SSRI’s.
Clomipramine is the strongest on serotonin of them all and its metabolite is also among the strongest on norepinephrine, so it’s kinda an SNRI in effect, very potent indeed.
Side effects are horrible, but what can I do… I’m not very functional right now…
I was on Imipramine years ago and it made me manic as hell!
I can’t tolerate antidepressants.
