There’s been 18 school shootings since the beginning of the year in the USA. Probably shouldn’t talk about it though.

No they generally see these bases as a guarantee of safety.
Italy was near the iron curtain during the cold war and we had one powerful Communist Party.
Now that the Soviet union collapsed Italy is still important for the NATO because we are near the middle east.

The fascists outlawed it, but it was a small party at that time.
It was also a moderate communist party (stalinists crimes were well hidden), but its popularity was dangerous (it had 30% of votes).
