Told to go to A&E (ER)

Well I think it’s the withdrawal from Lurisadone or it could be side effects from Cariprazine

I reported:

  • Apple Watch telling me off a few times a day for a resting heart rate above 120bpm for longer than 10 mins whilst inactive for the last month or so
  • Heart palpitations
  • Nausea
  • Chest pain lasting 5-10mins this morning - with the first 5 mins being severe

The GP doctor on the out of hours phone service said I need an ECG and bloods done to see if my heart is broken

My parents basically said wait till tuesday when the family doctor is open as they can do this without me having to wait hours in A&E for something of nothing

They’re busy today, so looking after my dog Mason was inconvenient to them

What I told them was I will go to A&E if I get the chest pain again, and if it kills me then that’s just a bonus!

My resting heart rate was above 120 bpm for years. When I was on a higher dose of clozapine. I went to a cardiologist and she said I had to reduce it. Only then my pdoc listened.

So, it could be the meds.

Only you know your own body.

Never let others dictate your pain level. Get checked ASAP if you are that concerned.

I am pretty sure it’s meds going up and down

Spoke to the mental health helpline this morning to talk about symptoms and I mentioned this and told me if I didn’t call out of hours for advice they’d send an ambulance

The severe chest pain has only occurred once, but the doctor said it might be causing damage to my heart

But I will see if it happens again and go to hospital if it does

Maybe a interaction if you started a new drug? In that case maybe stop taking lurasidone. I think lurasidone is known for cardiac side effects.

I had QTC prolongation which I have no idea how long for on Amisulpride, so maybe that might have caused some damage to the ticker. No idea

That’s awful :frowning: I think specialists get a bit of tunnel vision sometimes

I had chest pain yesterday. Not severe though. Maybe 2-3 on a scale of 10. Stopped taking lurasidone. Feeling better today so far. I’m also taking seroquel. I just gamble that the lurasidone was causing it since it happened the last time I tried it as well.

I wish it was more straight forward trying to work out the best med

There should be some sort of test

If they say x dopamine receptor etc is broken, then AP x should be the best

Seems more like a turkey shoot trying to find the right med mix

Oh my goodness, I hope you will be okay! Definitely get seen ASAP if you need to, don’t want to take chances.

I hope you’re ok. I’m nervous and worried about you.

Thanks @CoCo it has not happened again yet, so hopefully it’ll be ok

Found all the alerts on my phone, so will share with the mental health team on Tuesday

Really hope it’s the Latuda and not Cariprazine

Might not even be meds, who knows! Probably is though

Woke up at 2am as did not take sleep meds and withdrawal I think

No chest pains today, so might have been a one off

They said no coffee, but I will have a cup now and see if it’s ok

That’s good. Are you out of sleep meds? Or don’t you want to take them anymore?

I have some, but I thought I would try to go without them

They were prescribed when I couldn’t sleep on another med about a year ago

Just seem to pick up prescriptions on regular meds for potentially temporary problems

I used to take Doxepin for sleep. If I don’t sleep 8 hours s night from last night to Tuesday night, I plan to ask my pdoc for more when I see her on Wednesday. For weeks now, I’ve been getting very little sleep

It sucks when sleep is messed with.

Mine has been all over the place regardless of the sleep med or not

Been a real adjustment as one of the APs had me bed ridden for a few months, so swinging the other way has been challenging to know what to do with awake time

Hope you can get it sorted
