Today, my therapist told me I’m not

Ready to work yet. She wants me to spend the summer in individual and group therapy and then reevaluate in the beginning of the fall. My husband wants me to work so I can pay the car payment on the used car we just bought. I’m not sure what to do.

Did your therapist say the reasons why they think that??

Your husband should have thought about how to make the car payment before he bought the car.

Major financial decisions like that need to be based on money you have,

Not money you might have.

If he needs the money for the payment maybe he can work.

Difficult situation, but you know what you have to in the end.

Ask her what she thinks about part-time hours in the lowest stress position you can find.

She wants me to work on my self esteem and coping skills for paranoia and anxiety first @Noise.

@Charles_Foster i agree. We came up with a budget to afford the payment without me working so I’m hoping to bring that up. It leaves very little for food though.

Yes. Thanks @Airparticle

@TheLogician , this was her recommendation after I told her I was considering working as a nutrition aide at the local hospital part time. Low end, low pay job. I’m not sure about stress, but I picked it because preparing and delivering food, and washing dishes sounds on the lower end of stress I’m guessing. Although I question whether or not I’d be good at it

Did you start that job? Might be stressfull if you stress yourself much, if you are able to do it with the ideea that your help counts, could be a very nice way to contribute. And that makes you feel good about yourself. Part time should be fine

How is the therapy going? Does it help you?

@Davincii @Jonathan2 I started therapy a few weeks ago. After a couple sessions, I brought up working to my therapist. She recommended I wait and revisit the possibility at the end of the summer, because of my emotional and mental state. I’m working with her on my self esteem and on coping skills in the meantime
