Probably an allergic reaction or a bug bite. How long has it been like that?

It just got bad in the past couple of hours it’s super red and it keeps running

Maybe he got into something? Sure sounds like an allergic reaction to me.

In my area many vets are requiring people to stay in their cars while they examine and treat pets inside.

Maybe they’re doing that where you are too?

Also—sometimes I can get away with calling and talking to them about whether or not I should bring my cat in based on symptoms (or whether it can wait)—but often they are reluctant to give an opinion over the phone. But could be worth a shot.

Good luck @Noise.

Take it one step at a time and don’t forget to breathe.

It might not be as bad as you think.

So he’s spending the night at the animal hospital. There’s a 5 hour wait time. The vet tech got right in my face so I wasnt able to social distance so now I’m worried I’ve infected her even if she was a ■■■■■ and I’m just really overwhelmed right now

Update

My cat has a corneal ulcer and may lose sight in his eye. He has to wear a cone and get eye drops and hopefully things will be ok but it could go either way

I feel so bad for him how did I let this happen

It’s not your fault!! Don’t be so harsh on yourself…

Sometimes animals get hair in their eyes and get infected… or maybe scratched it unconsciously. It’s not definite yet, so keep your hopes up!

I just feel like it’s my fault. I have no idea how this happened and now he might lose his sight. I should have paid more attention. I should have noticed sooner. His eye looks so painful I needed to be better and I failed him

It’s no use regretting the things we couldn’t control in the past…? You can focus on the things you can to make him better! Like giving the eye drops his doctor prescribed and going to the doctors for routine check ups😊

Sorry I’m just not doing super good right now. I’m just really overwhelmed.

Thank you

It’s a good thing you took him in.

I have a cat with vision in just one eye. He does just fine. I keep him indoors of course, but before that he was an outdoor stray and somehow managed.

I had another cat who had a corneal ulcer from a fight with another cat, and he was ok after the cone and the treatment. As far as I know, his vision was unaffected. He did have to stay at the vet for a few days. I remember cabbing him there at like midnight. It was really scary,

Good job @Noise! Best wishes to you and your kitty.

That sucks! My dog only has one eye and he’s ok. So just saying even if your cat loses an eye, he’ll still be ok. Hang in there!

I’m really sorry about your cat. It sounds like you did everything you could for him. I hope he recovers soon.

I hope his eye gets better again. You did good job going with him to the vet.
I hope you don’t worry too much but that is easier said than done yea.

The thing is you took him. Give yourself grace. It’s going to be okay.

You did everything you could. The cat will be well enough whatever happens. Don’t beat yourself up about it.

He’s resting up finally. he’s been restless all day. He’s finally accepted that he needs to wear the cone. Poor little guy is obviously in a lot of pain.

Thank you for all the support though I really appreciate it! this has been exremely stressful
