To Clonazepam or not to Clonazepam that is the question

I’m seeing my psychiatrist tomorrow. I’ve been debating whether or not to start having some benzos on hand for emergencies.

But given that I’ve been having some freak outs lately that a benzo would have taken care of I think I’ll ask.

I don’t think a doctor can prescribe a benzo for a teen, or else I would ask also.

I think benzos are pretty safe as long as they’re used as sort of a last resort. I have .5mg ativan tablets that are only to be used in emergencies (panic attacks, overwhelming hallucinations (to be taken with prn haldol)). Don’t need much more than that.

I was prescribed a benzo at age 14 by my IOP pdoc. I don’t know if the law has changed or anything, but it wouldn’t hurt to ask.

I use 0.5mg cut in two for sleep and take another when i wake up in the middle of night
