Tips to fall asleep at night?

I’ve been having trouble fall asleep early again. staying up til 3 or 4 in the morning lately. the only thing I know how to do is to either set an alarm clock and go on only a couple hours rest or stay up the whole night and following day to reset my sleep schedule.

I will need to start getting up early if im to be going back to work. but have been sleeping in til noon the past couple of weeks.

does anybody have any tips on how to fall asleep early and wake up fresh in the morning? im thinking of trying some chamomile tea, but I don’t think that will be strong enough, so maybe a waste of money.

I take a lot of meds to fall asleep. I’m on
Seroquel 100 mg at night.
Melatonin 6 mg at night.
Trazodone 100 mg at night.
Klonipin 0.5 mg as needed at night.

I take them all at 8 pm. I go to bed around 930 pm. They usually work pretty good 90% of the time.

kick all caffeine, exercise 5 days a week and meditate at least 20 minutes a day. Don’t nap and get up at the same time every day no matter what to get into a rhythm.

I never intake any caffeine, I exercise most nights of the week, (I do yoga), and I meditate at least 30 minutes every single day. I rarely nap. I usually arise around 10 or 11 in the am. I sleep a lot.

Pistachios are supposed to help you fall asleep.

I love pistachios but I don’t like dealing with the shells.

50 mg Benedryl.

Benadryl makes me bounce off the walls. It has a stimulating effect on me. It does this to some people.

For me I drink 3 glasses of wine in the evening to help me sleep. However I’m trying to cut down. I spoke with my psychiatrist about it and once we have changed to the aripiprazole she might add some qutiapine to help me sleep.

If she does I likely won’t need the wine. I hope she does it soon.

I take melatonin most nights lately. It helps me fall asleep faster with the stress of my recent move. I’m sure I can wean off them eventually once I settle in more. I want to at least. I have heard melatonin supplements for sleep are like a drop in the ocean compared to what the body produces, so no worries there. You could try calmingmusic , or music for mediation. De-stress. Write down your stressors to take them off your mind. Good luck!

Quetiapine works really well for me for sleep. I hope it does for you too.
