This made my day

My Mom is a math and science teacher… when she taught biology and anatomy she got a resin skeleton for her classes.

life happened and my Mom got tapped to teach Trig and Calculus, so my sis took the skeleton and as a joke, would keep it in her closet… or put it in her car and drive in the HOV lanes… or take it on the bus with her… Or take it out to dinner.
Her worst joke… (while fighting anorexia) “It’s nice not to be the skinniest at the table for once.”

Mom called, the biology teacher is on maternity leave and my Mom got asked to teach biology again… she needs her skeleton back…

Mr. Bones is moving out… I hate that thing and I am SO glad to see it leave… I have to say… he travels light.

I never understood the fascination with those things. People in class would always play with them like they were some kind of toy, but I thought they were just odd. I don’t know why they make me feel strange. I guess the thought of looking at our interiors is not something I’m good at doing. I’m OK with anatomy of the throat and mouth and lungs (all related to my major in college) but beyond that I get freaked out.

My sis is trying to get into a nursing program. She’s 18 and has a ways to go. But she wants to be a nurse. At least she did learn the bones.

But as soon as she got Mr. Bones… for a while it was getting really creepy and odd always having this thing around. Like a morbid doll. She would dress it up too… Yuck. Eventually she put it away and left it alone.

I love my kid sis with all my heart… she’s not Sz, but she is NOT normal… (what ever normal is)

Good luck to her on getting into a nursing program. I work at a community college that has a well-known, wonderful nursing program, and it’s so hard to get in. They only accept 20 students a semester and you have to ace all the prerequisites to even be considered. I took an anatomy class once, I remember all the bones and stuff, they’re fun to learn with music. So many good anatomy videos on YouTube.

Thanks SurprisedJ for the good laugh! It gives new meaning to the saying ‘skeletons in the closet’!

This reminded me of my old boyhood friend who had a dad who was a puppeteer. He had a hearse that he would pull up at stop lights and then pull a lever and this puppet would raise up and wave from the coffin in the back. People freaked out. haha…
