?The relationship between thoughts and feelings?

Are they one and the same? Tell me what you think? I’d like to know!

Thoughts cause feelings and feelings cause thoughts. So I guess you could say so.

They are the same for me in that my regulation of them is not great.

Feelings are worse though, as I am not good at processing them

Something that totally blew my mind:

My therapist said that feelings generally refers to the physical sensations in your body. So like, feeling angry refers to the way your heart rate picks up, the jittery uncomfortable feeling, the urge to move, etc. The thoughts of anger are the things you’re actually angry about.

I have thought about this for almost a decade and I still don’t understand it that well.

I think that feeling ultimately came first via sensations and then thoughts arose to make sense and organise the feelings.

I don’t know it’s funny I was also reading about this today.

I like your threads.
