The police that came to the door were pretty cool!

When I got into trouble three years ago and the police came to the door to put me in jail for 12 hours, they were nice to me, let me ride up front, and gave good advice. How about your experiences with the cops?

I remember they actually pounced on me. Lol.

I was off my head psychotic doing an action movie run for it from the hospital. So they called the police.

First time, they made my cuffs too tight. I asked them nicely to loosen it but they did not. Perhaps cos I bit a police hand trying to make them let go of me. I did apologise.

Bad times.

I’m glad you’re police were nice. Sounds lovely

Hey Jinx.

Yea I was suspended for a stupid thread I made.

Quite a long time lol. :expressionless:

I don’t know any other chat places.

There’s discord but I’m feeling scared to use it.

What about you.?

cops took me to the state hospital…put the cuffs on really tight…I had immediate delusions that they were going to beat me so I was as nice as I could be…they didn’t beat me and off I went to the state hospital.

I’ve never used any other chatrooms but in 1998 I used a Christian forum.

That’s cool. I would consider a Christian forum if I was a Christian but I don’t believe in hell.

I was in an outpatient program at the hospital and staff decided that I needed to be admitted instead. It was policy that all involuntary commitments be escorted by the police. So even though I was already there, they called the police to take me back.

The cop was really nice and didn’t handcuff me, just trusted I wasn’t going to lose my ■■■■ on her and do something stupid. I didn’t and my parents, who were with me, didn’t have to go through the trauma of seeing me handcuffed and kicking and screaming.

I was doing drugs all night 33 years ago in a strangers house in a strange neighborhood waiting for this guy to show up with my car I let him borrow. He ended up stealing it while I sat up all night in this house in the middle of nowhere where I didn’t know a soul.

In the morning I freaked out and had an episode and left the house and went across the street to another house and knocked on the door. A Spanish lady answered who didn’t know a word of English. I wanted her to call the cops to come and get me and take me to the hospital but I couldn’t make her understand. Finally a 7 year old boy came to the door who spoke English and translated to the lady that I wanted to use their phone. They gave me the phone and I called the cops and they were there in 15 minutes.

I thanked the boy and a cop put some cuffs on me and as he was putting me in the back seat of his cruiser another cop asked him what the problem was. He answered, “Just another schizo”. I was highly offended but I was not in a position of power so I just sat there and they drove me to Stanford Hospital and dropped me off.

Some were good to me. Some were nice to me. One even gave me his number once. Then some were rough with me. One swung me by my handcuffs in the ER when i tried to bolt and i fell down and knocked myself unconscious. Hit my head pretty bad. Then there was the transport cops to the state hospital. Very long drive prob 4 hrs and i had to pee and they wouldnt stop. Told me to pee on myself.

in my country i dont interact with cops but during my first episode schizoohrenia when i was in microbus a cop stopped it and asked me to show him my id and i gave him it after that he gave back my id and i grabbed it violently somehow he considered this bad or illegal i dont know for sure after that he took me to police station and after a few talk in there and maybe checkings they let me go. so i think its better not to interact with them in the first place also if i have to interact with them then i have to be polite and obey them so that dont get myself in troubles

Yeah, I read that jerky movements will cause a cop to get nervous and suspicious. I did it once when I was reaching for my registration after getting pulled over. The cop went from pleasant to hostile in a split second (and I got a ticket).

i behaved like that on purpose and due to a delusion in my mind. its not related to jerky movement.

Well, you’ll get the same result.

I don’t have much experience with the police. But I was escorted by the security of the building to the hospital in my first psychosis.

I did once get a fine from the police for vomiting in a public place because I was too drunk while going out in my college days.

Mine were okay, although I wasn’t mature enough at the time to realize I was being treated better than I deserved.

I never had a problem with the police here in Arkansas. I feel comfortable calling them when I need them. I’ve gotten traffic tickets and they put me out of my mom’s house when she got an order of protection against me. In that case the cops were just doing their job. They had an order from a judge to enforce.

My experiences with police were alright.

I’ve been in jail four times in my life. I’ve had run ins with law enforcement since my teens. I’ve had them get me a room at a motel for the night for me and I’ve had them harass me. It’s a wash for me. They are pretty useless because they generally arrive after the fact and most of them we don’t need.
