its a long running trolling of the scifi genre… that has continued into today… cathulu is a cat meme of h.p. lovecrafts most notable creation… cthulhu also appears in rick and mortie cartoon shows intro…
cthulhu is the flying monster that comes on about :23 seconds in…
later writers have added a back story to a document translated from greek in a more than questionable manner… and other necronamicons and even a nonsensical ramble swapping inbetween an unknown language and long winded lines of English random… all lovingly added into this wonderful sci fi universe…
this is the al azif… it is a troll within a troll… mostly nonsense and a made up language… I doubt the writer of this trolling even had a working translation…
*editors note I misspelled cthulhu with (kathulu) various times…
ha that turned into a presentation for h.p love craft…with included video and links to the source materials… @rhubot if you still have that cathulu pic still would you mind adding it… and if anyone wants to add their favorite parts or pics or examples of hp love crafts influence… and of course the off topic nonsense is humbly invited…
Not my thing, but my son has a really nice copy of the Necronamicon… sounds so evil! He’s read everything by HP Lovecraft. Ever since he was little he’s been fascinated by monsters.
@Hedgehog I understand ive always ben a sci fi junkie too… reading early sci fi…ive noticed the short random stories…sometimes every story has a different author… they may only be 30 pages per story but the stories are wonderful and fast paced… your son may enjoy that style of book…
@Rhubot crap did i just waste a wish on a cathulu pic…crap… i only have one wish left… i guess you are free genie… thank you for that beef and bean burrito and the wonderful cathulu pic…ill miss you…
holy crap… have you read this? … until tonight I had only known h.p. lovecrafts work through second hand reference… he rambles like a mad man that knows all the words… and makes up some along the way… one ramble Is terror filled description… the next I was laughing… and then lots of confusion that is crafted masterfully… a sentence may be 3 lines long and only 5 sprinkled words actually matter the rest is ramble… and then the ramble makes fun of a char withins rambling lines…well done…its been a while since I read a masters work in scifi…
I read on my Kindle usually, and this book is apparently an awful Kindle experience, precisely because of the jumbliness. So I have to get a hardcopy, which requires so much more effort
this could be the greatest scifi ive ever read… i just finished it…and already want to start again because i know i missed a lot… its specifically vague lots of nonsense and long winded phrasing but it moves fast at the same time … i will check out the other book you said you have already read…
