The Giving of Needles By Nurses

It really is an Art.

I had a fantastic Nurse who gave me the needle slowly and painlessly. Now my new RN is jabby and fast…it hurts quite a bit, but I don’t have the heart to tell her she gives lousy needles.

I am going through the same thing. My first RN had alot of experience, she gave me the needle slowly and carefully. I didn’t get any lumps. Now my new nurse jabs it so quickly and I keep getting lumps in the area she gives them. I feel powerless, like I can’t tell her she is doing it wrong and that is the reason I am getting lumps. I have had her for about 3 years now and I am still alive, so I guess I will just have to live with it.

I agree, don’t tell her she gives lousy needles or say you’ll do it yourself if things don’t go smoothly, bad idea. Just wondering, do you guys like to look when you’re given the needle, or do you sit back and relax with your eyes closed when you receive one?
