I’ve been diagnosed with autism at age 5 so not a tiktok diagnosis
Tiktok is so obnoxious about that. Tiktokkers act like every single personality trait is a sign of an undiagnosed mental condition and it’s super duper irritating.
That behavior predates tiktok.
In the 8th grade, 2004, I noticed how a lot of my peers would say stuff like “i like things neat, I’m so ocd” or “omg i’m so hyper i have adhd today” or even “I can’t make up my mind, I’m totally schizophrenic about it”
Like every personality flaw was a mental illness.
I think it’s natural for teens to try and make sense of things by finding categories to fit them into
There was zero awareness of MI where and when I grew up
