I am not sure how that applies to you guys, but i still understand it, i barely used it since i was a kid.

this took more then 10 minutes to write , so i guess i might understand metaphors but have a hard time thinking of one

“Her lovely voice was music to his ears.”
The metaphor is comparing her voice to music…for his ears. Unless of course it was her singing voice. Then it’d be a straight forward non metaphor.
“Her lovely singing voice was great music, to his ears”

I am slow at catching metaphors and sometimes even jokes.
I’m an English major, metaphors are our bread and butter.
Laughter is the best medicine.
Let’s bridge the gap between us.
Stuff like that. I don’t understand how the illness could make metaphors harder to understand, but maybe that’s because I was schooled in metaphor for several years.
