United Nations Partition Plan for Palestine.
The resolution was adopted on November 29, 1947 and paved the way for the creation of Israel
Here is the map of the suggested partition.
In blue are the territories demarcated for a Jewish state, in yellow are territories earmarked for an Arab state,
and in white(which includes Jerusalem) are international territories.
Eventually the Arabs rejected the plan and declared war on the Jews.
The Jews fended off the Arab aggressors and Israel was created.
Israeli independence was declared on 14 May 1948, during the war of independence.
Israel’s provisional borders were established following the war of independence with the 1949 Armistice Agreements.
Israel captured more territories in the Six Day War.
