Now I’m starting to think that Diagnosed-Other is for everyone, but Diagnosed -SZ/SZA is just for Schizophrenics only.

Just guessing, I’m still very confused

Maybe Diagnosed - Other could be renamed General Psychotic Disorders or something like that, to clear up confusion.

My understanding was that Diagnosed - Other and subforums are supposed to work pretty much as they always have, while Diagnosed - Sz/Sza is meant to give sz/sza diagnosed people a place to talk about issues when they don’t want input from the peanut gallery.

we now have a category that categorically states our health condition, yayyyy

come on guys i want this place to grow, we are the 1% haha

I don’t like. It could exclude valuable people from discussions where they could contribute.

Dx- other:

A Support and Discussion area for people who have been diagnosed with something other than schizophrenia or schizo-Affective, or who think they might have a related disorder or symptoms, or who suffer from hearing voices).

This site is moving to the R&D site of mental illness. More professional.

If the discussion was in the SZ SZA area some wouldn’t be able to contribute. Would I for instance as SZA be allowed to post in the ‘Other’ area. If so you’d have to follow 2 forums. Maybe a little too much. Maybe not.

Nope.

That means I THINK a person I really like to communicate with would be out of reach. If so, I would be mad.

Everyone can post in every other category. But there is a bit of a Berlin Wall for the 2 ‘diagnosed’ categories.

Yeah, I guess I don’t see the value in keeping sz/a out of the other category. I had hoped it would be a general psychosis forum, anyone with a psychotic illness or who suspected they might have one could post there.

If there was something that was very specific to the sz/a experience and input specifically from sz/a people for sz/a people was wanted, it would go in the new category.

I think a category that excludes sz/a people is a bad idea - if those of us who have other psychotic conditions don’t care for the input of sz/a people, then we need to look for another forum. I’m here because our experiences are similar and I find your input invaluable.

@SzAdmin, clarity please?

It sounds kind of like the evidence of some kind of war. But not necessarily the reason. It has an unfriendly feel.

What if there was a separate site - like the family site - away from this one - where People with sz + sza could sign up do their business there. And schizo.com could remain neutral, I would miss some of those people too. I don’t know if I would sign up - Probably so, to see if it was interesting to me.

The regular diagnosed section is there last time I checked.

It’s specific to people diagnosed with other conditions now. As it stands, you’re not welcome there if you have sz/a.

I don’t even pay attention to Categories…just the Header…so go figure.

Nope. Still there.

No, it’s not. There is Diagnosed - Sz/SzA, and Dx’d - Other. The descriptions of each have been changed to specify that one is for sz/a, and one is for people with something else. Perhaps your browser has the old site cached?

Let me get this straight… You’re suggesting that people with schizophrenia refrain from posting in the newly created forum for those with schizophrenia on a site with the domain name schizophrenia.com and go post elsewhere on a new site instead?

Folks, there’s already a place where pretty much anyone can post on any conversation. It’s called Facebook and it sucks. My original understanding was that we’d have a general diagnosed forum and a forum specific to sz/a.

Perhaps @SzAdmin can clarify? Too tired to fight over this tonight.

Mine too. Hope it can be updated to reflect this. I really don’t think schizophrenia.com needs a place where schizophrenics aren’t allowed.

I think everyone would be on board with that. Plus it’s a moderation nightmare otherwise I’d imagine.
