Terrified of taking Solian

Hi! New here, first question…
My pdoc has adviced me to take a small dose of Solean (25mg/day), because of my anxiety and negative overthinking.
I really want some meds that clear my mind, and activate my body (since right now I think so much that I’m mentally and physically fatigued).
But … I also have an eating disorder, and I am terrified that I will gain weight. I’ve heard some very different experiences with Solean and weight gain.
Can you guys please tell me your experiences? Thanks!

I don’t have any direct experience with it, but I found these reviews online.

If you gain weight on one antipsychotic, you will most likely gain weight on any antipsychotic. They are all D2 receptor antagonists. Then there are partial agonists, but they also antagonize D2 receptors.

It’s all personal trial and error.

A med that will make one person gain weight will not have that effect on another person.

This is completely untrue.

Hi Mer, I take Solian/Amisulpride 100mg twice daily so i take whats regarded as a therapeutic dose and my weight is fine, it came down a little when i started this med after a short time and it went up again but that was the pregablin which i stopped, Idk what it would be like with higher doses, i did take twice the amount at first and it didnt affect weight, i was on 200mg twice a day.

After my first episode I was put on 800mg, then 600mg solian a day.
I experienced severe akathisia and depersonalization. I wasn’t feeling like myself anymore. I had to switch after only a couple of months, so no idea about long-term effects.

25mg is a very low amount, that’s all I can say.

I don’t know if I put on weight with it, if I did it wasn’t much. It made me really social and was a good med at a low dose. I can’t tell if you’ve been on meds before. If you haven’t maybe try Taurine for negative thought and mediation. https://youtu.be/w54R9QYgZGo?si=90x_OE-pi3OrIo3G Before you try antipsychotics.

I was on 800mg

It never made me weight on

Very good med overall

Had to come off it after 3 years because my ECG flagged a QTc heart issue

25 mg is nothing … why not try cariprazine (vraYLAR, REAGILA)

I’ve been on 200mg for a decade and I really like it. Combined with high dose seroquel I did gain weight, but have lost it all without reducing meds. I think it supercharged the Seroquel.

25mg is a very small dose. Doses under 200 act as an antidepressant too!
