Taking my job search one step further

Recently I have started to search and apply for a teacher positions on various ‘teach abroad’ sites. Most of the popular sites of that kind only ask you to create a profile, which should consist a personal and professional records, your picture and CV or resume. Once you got it, you can apply for a job with just one click.

I’m still learning to write a professional ‘business style’ mail though :smiley_cat:
Luckily, there is Google The Almighty and I think I didn’t really embarrass myself so far.

Also, I signed for an online TEFL certificate course. I was a bit doubtful about that one, because it is online, but I checked it around and it seems like it is safe and legit.
Maybe I’ll end up in South Korea! Or Africa. Who knows :)) lucky those little Koreans if I come.

That is awesome! I think teaching abroad would be a really good opportunity for someone like you who has so much cultural experience.

This little glossary for job dummies has been really helpful!

I would love it. I just need a TEFL certificate
( Teaching English As Foreign Language) which will increase my chances. A lot of vacancies ( a new word I learned Lol) ask either for that or a native English speaker.

In which grade?
I still didn’t find it interesting to learn about foreign educational system - there are some differences when it comes to curriculum types and grades.
Like there is k-12. What is K-12 for God’s sake, we don’t have it.

We have k-12 here. It’s kindergarten to high school. Ages 5-18, but still all divided into different classrooms based on their age and grade. Smaller towns only need one school to serve all of he children.

Thanks for info! Then I’m also certified for K-12, ages 6 to 18. Good to know.

My dads friend teaches english in other countries, he’s from the UK. Last I heard he’s in Taiwan. He’s been in vietnam, south korea and china for a short while too.

Hey that’s something.

Those places and also Middle East countries recruit a lot of English teachers.

He was working for the BBC, something to do with health & safety, then decided he would like to travel.

Sounds like a great opportunity to me. Think how much it will improve your language skills, and broaden you in other ways. It could be a lot of fun.

TEFL course is really tough one, that’s what I’ve been told.

I really hope I’ll get down those articles once for all, lol.

Your command of the English language is better than that of a lot of native English speakers. I’m sure you can do it.

I still need to work on my grammar, and i need a professional vocabulary improved and also there are times when you would cry out of laugh if you heard my pronouncing.

I don’t want that kids laugh at me
