Switching off thoughts connected to work

How do you switch off your head after work? I don’t know.

It’s only my first month in this job, but so much has already happened—whether it’s about the team, or doubts about possible mistakes…

Bullying from an older woman working in administration, the upcoming change of the clinic’s director, different doctors with different approaches, warm relationships with colleagues, exhaustion after work, postponing meals…

My thoughts should already be shutting off after work—it’s Friday evening, BUT! I suspect that only tomorrow during the day, or maybe by evening, I’ll actually start thinking about something else.

How do you detach from work-related thoughts?

I guess I just try to relax, put on some music or watch a show that I like on tv.

If there is some harsh experience with a customer or something I try to not take it personal.

I don’t really start thinking about work before I walk in the door at the workplace lately.

But there is a feeling of readiness ofcourse, like planning to get to work on time etc.

Probably redirecting my thoughts elsewhere is a good thing..

As for the administrator – she specifically causes problems for me. It’s even said that because of her the clinic has had constant staff turnover; many nurses have left this job because of her bullying.

But I don’t stay silent, I inform the doctors when she interferes with my work.

It’s just that when the weekend comes, I should focus on something else ^^

It’s very difficult. I was thinking about work nonstop too. Even when I was not at work my mind would be there. So I would never get a break to relax. My advise is to try and divert your mind to something you enjoy doing. I love to craft

I kinda think going to clubs and dancing would be cool. As long as I stay away from alcohol and drugs and risky sex. Finding healthy things to do with others like bicycle riding or racing in my case.
