I was yelled by a motorcyclist at the back for riding too slow. His outburst anger frightened me a little. I did not break any traffic law and it was traffic jam during the hours. I carefully monitored the quality of my self-control. I did not return evil for evil. I push a short horn twice. Fortunately I am able to sustain that high-level of anger triggered by him and let go the intense emotion before I reach my destination (at workplace).
I am proud of myself because self-control can actually be cultivated. You too can do it.

That’s good, @Plumber! It’s hard to stay calm sometimes. And I’m glad you shared that because hearing about everyday things that we all struggle with and how you handled it well is encouraging.

Thank you Hedgehog. What a lovely remark. Now I remember the stories with your brother-in-law. Yes, anger at times can be difficult to deal with.

When I get really angry at a situation, I don’t know if I should be that angry or if it’s just my Sz. So I usually take the high road and calm down before doing anything I might regret later.

You chose the right path, Patrick!
Fools vent their anger, but the wise quietly hold it back.
Controlling anger, before it controls you.
I must admit controlling anger is not always easy.
