Hi, all. My first time posting here. I’m really glad I’ve found you all. I’ve been cracking up reading some of the posts, everyone’s so funny, supportive, and authentic. I’ve been dealing with schizoafective disorder for 10 years. My son has been having hallucinations and depression for the past few years. He is 12 years old now. He is on an antidepressant and an anti- sichotic and he is often scared from his hallucinations. I am able to help him cause I know what he is going through. At the same time I’ll never forgive myself because I gave it to him! I’ve just felt lately that this messed up world is overwhelming and I’m glad I found this forum as it seems very supportive. I especially appreciate how we can be honest and open here without being afraid ppl are going to freak out. I don’t even tell my husband/ and sons father everything my son tells me cause I know he wouldn’t understand.
Welcome to the site! You’re right that people here can relate to your experience much better here. Instead of looking at us aghast when we think voices are telling us to hurt ourselves, people here say, “Yes, I know what you mean.” Normies just can’t understand us, but people on here can relate. Keep coming back. We’re glad to have you.
Hey…welcome. You cover two realms here. You’ll get some support for yourself but there’s also a caregivers forum which would help you with your son. I’d recommend you visit that too but look forward to your posts here and we’ve all been through a lot so there’s so much wisdom here for those who suffer.
